8/16/14

Alyson and I got up and had breakfast with Corey and Pam at the hotel. We jumped on the Long Island Railroad and headed up to Brooklyn. We walked around and got lunch at The Lodge..... where Danny works. We took the train to the water, and rode a ferry down to the Brooklyn bridge. We walked around there for a few, then walked over the Brooklyn bridge into Manhattan. Alyson took me down to the Lower East Side, where CBGB's used to be. I'm so glad that I at least got to see one show there before it closed. We went and checked out the new World Trade Center building. It's pretty damn impressive. We saw the Ground Zero memorial. Just like being in DC and seeing the war memorials..... Its heavy. It's was so crazy to stand there and look up at all the buildings where the twin towers were, and imagine how insanely horrifying it had to have been to see them come down in person.

We went to a new bar in Brooklyn, and met up with a bunch of Alyson's friends. It was really nice to have finally met some of her friends from Brooklyn. My buddy Gabe, who recently moved to Brooklyn came out for a bit too.
